I've just finished it. I wrote it without editing so I could get to the end without faltering.
I look it now, fresh out of the printer. Sure, it's improvable. It can be transformed into something worthwhile. But I've just read it - and it's horrible.
Are first drafts meant to be horrible.
What I mean by horrible is not grammatical, spelling mistakes. I mean the words don't flow. I think it's because I didn't go back and read them out. Is it supposed to work like this in a first draft?
I need encouragement : (

Ok, you DO NOT have to give me the answer. But from where I am reading this, it doesn't make sense. It says to:

What symbolic evidence can you find in Poe's use of the following:

C. . the movement from east to west in the sequence of the rooms and throughout the story

Symbolic Value? This is comfusing...please help me.

Thank You. :]

I admit I am a Harry Potter fan but this book I can say it's really amazing. Although I loved all Harry Potter books, that one was completely perfect!!

Did you buy it (if so, why?) or was it given to you?

I have just finished "Grace Notes" which was lent to me and I really enjoyed it. I've now started "Poisoned Cherries" which was a Christmas present but I'm only on the first chapter so can't really comment, although I really like the author's style. It's very Brit. Very wry.

I also love the Harry Potter books; Rowling has a very clever way of drawing the reader in.

Which is your favourite book of all time?

I'm not sure that I can choose...I have favourites from childhood ("Pippi Longstocking") but I read books which cover all sorts of genres. I'm a big fan of Agatha Christie but then I was extremely moved by the "Child called It" series.

What do you think?

I have to do a 4-5 minute discussion or activity with my class (I'm a student) on The Black Cat by Edgar Allan Poe. What do you think I could talk about/do with them? I'd like to start a discussion of some type or ask for everyone's opinions - but how can I keep it going for 4 minutes?
Could anyone give me a list of things such as themes that I could get them talking about?

If Voldemort can sence when witches and wizards are telling lies - why cant he tell (in Deathly Hallows) - when Narcissa Malfoy tells him that Harry is dead?

Knowing Voldemort to be the most powerful dark wizard in that century, wouldn't he be able to tell that she wasn't being genuine?

I personally like trilogies. They have a lot more character development than one book, and they don't run out of steam by being pushed too far at the end.

But what do you prefer? And why?

I would prefer if it was a definit fact or statistic rather then your personal opinion.

Some people told me not to go and read Eragon because of plagiarism - and I see their point. But plagiarism aside, what other factors would you say will not make Eragon an enjoyable read?

Please answer only if you can give me reasons NOT to read. I have people saying that I SHOULD read already.
Thanks a lot!

Now that we know that Professor Dumbledore was gay does anyone think differently of him? If you didn't hear about that already YES Dumbledore is gay. JK Rowling confirmed it.
