I loved it, bought it and read it the night it came out. As far as perfect? Nothing is perfect but it is great.

It was a good ending for the series, basically ties up the loose ends, had a happy ending for Harry, Hermione, Ron and Ginny.
I would not call it perfect, though. The "time in the wilderness" was far too long and could have been reduced by 100-150 without hurting the book. I think this is because JKR wanted to keep to the "year in school" format of the previous books, even though the main characters were no longer at Hogwarts.
All in all, I list it as tied for second with PoA, with GoF my favorite.

It was not completely perfect. It was too predictible and rushed. JK should have just waited and wrote better. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and I thought the book was crap.

It was amaing! the best by far! Every twist was unxpected and loved the way it incorperated all of the other books like the diadem from the 6th and when we saw Aberforth by the mirror of mundungus and when Petunia said 'that boy' told lilly about dementors in the 5th, leaving everyone to think that 'that boy' was James when it was snape! I loved the snape story! IT made me cry!

Yes, I agree! I was crying hysterically at the end. I wouldn't say it's perfect, but no book is. The plot was placed perfectly, and the other books lead up to it wonderfully! The other book that ties with it is Prisoners of Azkaban. Honestly, that's where everything turns and starts to lead up to this. Amazing book.

It seems a lot of people on here didn't like it. I thought it was her BEST book. It was a little drawn out, but I read the entire thing in 1 day. I thought the last few chapters (even if one didn't like the way she ended it) were wonderfully written. I loved what she did with Snape... Goblet of Fire WAS my favorite, and I thought this blew that one away.

I think it was good. Definitely not my favorite of the series, but it was exceptional, none the less. My biggest problem with it was the epilogue. It seemed to me like a fan-pleaser. I think she should have left the story without the epilogue, or left it more mysterious.

It wasn't as good as I thought it would be, including the ending. Too fairy-tale for me.
