Does anybody know if there has been any non-fiction books.......?

Question

written on the people that resided in the United States before the American Indian was here? The American Indians called them "the people who came before."

The reason I am asking is because the Ameican Indian as we know it claims to be the first people in the US and I think I know that this is not true,because experts in the field claim that they got here from Mongolia thru the Bearing Strait when it was connected to America. They also claim that the white Eroupeans came and pushed them off of what they called their land. I think that the Indians did the same thing to the people that was here before them.

I have nothing against the American Indians. My great grandmother was a full bloodied Cherokee that is buried at Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma.

What I don't think is right is all the benefits that the Indians get. With my blood line I could get a American Indian card my self. My brother chose to get one, but I don't feel like anybody owes me anything, unlike a lot of American Indians.

Maybe you could clarify for me what you're looking for? I've read a few creation myths of different native cultures based on the creator spirit making human beings once, and not liking how they turned out, destroyed everything and started again. I've also heard of the term 'those who came before' referring to their anscestors, rather than a completely unrelated and seperate people. I've also heard of Atlantian type claims of para-psychologists and such saying that the ruins of Atlantis exist in the Grand Canyon. I'm not an expert on ancient American history, but I've got a library background. Here's something I found today for you.

Most of it is on Native American cultures, but perhaps you will get lucky. The site is scientifically based, rather than para-scientifically or mythically based though.

After reading your additions, I searched for earliest human habitation evedence in the Americas. As of 1997, evedence was confirmed that a pre-clovis culture existed in the Americas, predating the clovis sites by a 1000 years.

I don't know because anthropology is not my field. Try a search using a university and research oriented tool "for the people who came before" and see if it returns anything. If that fails, contact a good museum of anthropology in North America to see if they can help you. If there is any evidence for these people, someone must have done some research on it.
