Have you read any REALLY GOOD biographies? Books that are interesting and not boring.

Some of you will probably say that I should read books but it doesn't really work for me :( I have tried so many times. An example of the last time i tried was when I decided to go to the bookshop to buy me a book to read. I love romance, so I took " The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks " Obviously and unfortunately, I only read the first chapter as I always do and the book ended up as an auction on ebay.

Plz help.

Will she continue on in the Harry Potter world, or will she leave our imaginations to go wild?

Or perhaps will it turn out like Star Wars.

A different book seems to come out every month by a different author, set in the world of SW, but with totally different characters.

I read a book a few years ago and can't remember the title or author. It is about a man that takes his family out of town and when he returns finds a door in his house that wasn't there before. Nothing else is different, but there is a door inside his house that you can't see from outside that wasn't there before they left. He opens it one day and finds nothing but black. He starts to explore with some of his friends and things get a little weird. As the story progresses, some pages only have a few sentences or on word. Also, on some pages the text follows the perimeter of the page instead of lines of left to right. Does anyone know what this book is?

i just finished it(yea i know im late!) but i noticed ALOT of people on here weren't happy with the epilogue(which is acceptable because it was a bit rushed)

but i see even more is that people werent happy with Harry and Ginny ending up as the Married couple.

some would rather see harry and cho and ALOT of people on here seemed to hope Harry and Hermoine would end up together(although it must of been obvious Ron would of been the future hubby)

even though JKR didnt have alot of time to build more chemistry for Harry and Ginny i found it from the start that they seemed likely to hook up in the end.(just a hunch i guess)

why doesn't harry show his memories to the ministry of magic in harry potter and the GOF when he returns fighting voldemort inside the pensieve. even if he dosent know how to, dumbledore could have helped him. he could've shown the memory to the ministry out of dumbledor's pensieve. and i know memories can be tampered with but that dosen't affect this situation becuase its too realistic to make all that up in your head. and i know there are a lot of 'what ifs' in harry potter, but this one isn't explained by j.k rowling.

I wonder if anyone else has read this book or would have any idea of how I can find it. I have no idea what it is called or who wrote it! The book about a woman who one day decides to leave her family and go to live in an old cottage in the country and live by herself, off the land as much as possible. It is about her experiences on her own and how she manages. Things I remember from the book are that she cut her own hair after several years of just letting it grow wild and she had no mirrors so had no idea how bad she looked, she bought old furniture, never went into town , that kind of thing. After many years her daughter who was now grown up found her and went to visit and talk to her about how hurt she was that her mother left. That's most of what I can remember, I read the book when I was only a teenager but it has stuck in my mind all these years and I would love to read it again, I just have no idea how on earth I am going to find it. Any suggestions?
