The absolute best POD and ebook publisher is Hard Shell Word Factory. However, this is a royalty paying publisher (not vanity or subsidy) and they are flooded with manuscripts. It's as hard to get into them as a New York publisher because they only publish the best and they do it right.

POD publishers fall into three camps. The first and largest one is the vanity publishers. They make their money off you and make no attempt to actually sell the book. They'll publish anything.

Then there are the start-ups. These publishers are trying to do it right, but they are still struggling. They do pay royalties, but who knows how long they'll be in business? It's a gamble, but actually the best shot. They are more open to new authors because they are still building their lists.

Lastly you have the professionals. Hard Shell Word Factory is about the oldest (begun in 1996) and the biggest. They have more award winners than you can shake a stick at and it counts when you get on their list. With more than 600 books in print, they have something for everyone.

The best way to find a royalty-paying publisher is go to http://www.fictionwise.com and pull up the top twenty-five books in your genre. Write down the publishers. Visit their websites. Get their guidelines. NEXT go to Amazon and see if their books are available there. If they aren't, pass them up. They haven't quite got it together yet. If a publisher is NOT listed on either Fictionwise or Amazon, steer clear.

The answer is none. Why on earth would you want to do that? 1) Your book will not be in bookstores. 2) People will have to special order it to get it 3) Unless you pay out of your own pocket to promote it, nobody will know about it to order it. 4) They are all cheap, laser printed junk that in no way resemble a book printed on a printing press. 5) They cost a fortune 6) You will not make money on them because you will have to pay an exorbitant price per copy with little profit.

There is only one way to publish and that is traditional publishing. If you believe in yourself and in your book you owe it to yourself to spend at least twice as long as you did writing the book trying to sell it.

Spend the 30 dollars and buy a copy of Writers Market. Read it cover to cover and learn how traditional publishing works. Then go to my profile. I star all great Q and A on publishing and writing. You will be able to read the words of many published authors who have come here to offer advice to newcomers. Self publishing is not profitable.

Even if you spend all your efforts and money marketing your book, when will you work and when will you have time to write another book? You won't.

If your book is good, you owe it a traditional treatment. Don't you want to see it available in stores? Sorry but I am 1 million times anti self publishing as are many others here.

But if you do decide to forego the scrutiny of publishers and put the book out yourself, know this. 1) It doesn't make you a "published author" It just makes you a self published author. No editor, agent or publisher accepted your work for publication. Your check just cleared the bank and your book was printed. and 2) there are tons of self publishing scams out there. Check with Preditors and Editors before you do anything.

If you want to deal with competent people - the answer is quite simple. Competent people don't self publish.

If you need to ask this question, you're not even close to the point when you need to know the answer.

Just work on writing, and in your spare time read Writer's Digest, Writer's Market, and about a dozen books about writing. Also, become a regular visitor to the most important writer's forums, and join a writer's group.

Next year--just about the time you start your second rewrite--you will have already learned about getting published.

The multiplicity and style or maybe contradictory interpretations of Scripture rather have little or no longer something to do with the question of beginning place. enable me supply you an analogy. We’ve seen all kinds of interpretations of the US shape, yet even however political events and diverse judges have diverse perspectives of what the form says and potential, and what it meant, none of that distinction of opinion casts a shadow of doubt on the source of the form. all of us comprehend who wrote the form. all of us comprehend the place it got here from and what that's. human beings get dismayed by utilising the variations of opinion as to what the Bible teaches. If we set up that the Bible is the notice of God, merely a million/2 the conflict is over. the subsequent element we would desire to consistently be sure is, what does it say? do we agree on what it teaches? Is in fact what the Bible teaches, and you settle, then you rather will replace your view on the grounds which you have self assurance that it rather is the notice of God. many all and sundry is stricken by utilising the fact that the Bible has fallen right into a view of relativism, which thoroughly destroys the authentic important of Scripture. it would desire to be particularly complicated for us to locate the right interpretation, and we would be discouraged by utilising each and all the war of words approximately it, yet area of the reason we combat a lot with regard to the translation is that all of us agree that it’s mandatory to comprehend the notice of God wisely.

Then don't do POD. Simple as that. You're not going to get very professional or competent in that racket.

Sorry.
