I like fantasy books a lot, just finished New Moon and Twilight and I liked those A LOT!

I'm gonna start Eclipse and probably finish it soon, but I was wondering...what books you would recommend?

I love Harry Potter, done with that series and I've finished the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.

There are so many books out there...its hard to find what is a truly good read these days! Recommendations?

say if your writng a book involving the characters from another authors book who no longer writes the book and has move on to a new book, you use her charachters plus additional chararcters, using their super powers, and some of their super names but changing their whom names. and not using the same titlebecause of the story line difference is this legal
is this legal if the author is not using the other authors story line

Just thought this would be a fun question. I usually use bills or an old playing card, rather than a conventional bookmark. What do you guys use?

1.)I have no one to look at my work. I need some good honest criticism. From my grammar, to writing ability in general. Family and friends anit gonna cut it. Where's a good place to for that, for someone who can't find it?

2.)When it comes short stories. Do publisher want a book of short stories ( and how is much that) or is submiting one okay? And if they do want a book, dose it have to be all the same kind of genre written about?

If you guy's can help me, thanks!

i like stories that has a touch of reality to it. plus i like things that are funny, withour too much twists that makes my head spin. i like things like 'the bad mother's handbook', which is realistic and funny. i also like autobiographies about interesting people. recently i read about victoria beckam (just because i wanted to know how it feels like to be famous and rich for no reason), and diana: the true story (cos i've been curious about how it feels like to live in royalty). i also LOVE a walk to remember and love story. i like love stories, but not soppy and cheesy ones. i love the ones that are intelligently written, not just any bimbo chic read. any ideas? and please tell me roughly what it's about. i'm deprived of books but i can't find any that's good enough!thanks!!!

I was just thinking about the book when I stumbled on this.In book7,JKRowling says food is one of the exceptions to Gamp's law of elemental transfiguration. If it is so,then how does McGonagall produce those chicken and ham sandwiches and pumpkin juice in Chamber of Secrets?(pg no.65)She used her wand,so it was not elf magic. Please don't tell me she had some food tucked away in her pockets and multiplied it.

PS:Can I get a star?

Does anyone know the Author of book entitled "Christ the Vampire"? I don't clearly remember the details of the adventures of the people in the book, but title came from the idea transubstantiation during the Eucharist. Christ says essentially that if you drink his blood and eat his flesh, you'll earn eternal life.

I want to write short stories and publish a book or two. I have writing experience, written many things and even had some poetry published.

However I feel everything, subject wise, has been done to death.

Please give me your new, different, interesting, thought provoking, completely abstract, off the wall, only in your head idea(s).

Thank you

in fantasy and adventure books? It can be something as simple as "I like to see characters fight over the last bit of food" all the way to "I like the main plot to involve searching for an object." You can include dislikes also.

What I like in a fantasy/adventure book:
Humor. Anything that makes me laugh. Little fights and expressions is what really gets me smiling in a good book.
Dislikes:
Vampires and people with animal parts. Also modern fantasy books drive me up the wall! Getting lost on an island during a hurricane really gets me angry also. It has been done too many times!
