OK so I LOVED the Twilight series, Eragon/ Eldest, The Uglies Trology, The Bartimaeous Trology, Inkheart/ Inkspell, A Great and Terrible Beauty/ Rebel Angels, Harry Potter, etc. etc. I like books where it's like real life but with like vampires and I also love fantasy. I love anything that really like grabs you into the book. There can be romance but nothing like really graphic please. Thank you. Oh and I also like Redwall. I'm really looking for something similiar to the books I said but not the same plot... thanks

I had an idea for a short story once and wrote it. I sent it to a magazine and they rejected it. But about three years later I saw the same story on an episode of 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents'. It wasn't the EXACT story but the plot was the same and the characters were a little similar with thier problems and the story's conflict. I don't think my idea was stolen but what are the chances of my idea being the same as some screen writers. (I think mine was better, though) Any answers? Thanks.

It's about a massive school shooting that a 16 year old boy commits. The first half of the book is a narrative of his final thoughts right before he pulls the trigger on himself and the second part is the school shooting from a third person point of view.

Would this be a sore subject for a book?

I've read a few great books but I never go out of my way to read "the classics". However, I'm always reading non-fiction. but I write stories and poems and hopefully a novel someday. I usually write abstract fiction. Am I doomed to fail without reading "the classics"?

me and my friend always buy books all the time. so one day when we finished reading a book, she was like 'how come we never had read a story with a dark skin girl as the one who gets the guy.'
well i thought about that, every time we did read a story with a dark skin girl she was always evil and never got the guy at the end.
like 'b more careful'
so if you know of any please tell me, so me and her can read a good one.
i don't mind reading stories about light skin girls (i am light skin) but i want to read about something esle. thank you
