yeah i know king doesnt write about terrorists but my point was that our terrorist age is a sensitive one, so you might not be able to write the kind of crazy stuff he did, unless im wrong, any examples?

and if you take a look at some of his lesser known short stories, i think you might think it is at least slightly deranged

just for everyones information, im not planning on writing anything like this exactly for the reason im worried about being castigated for writing things that could have been acceptable 10 years ago, i just dont like the lack of that freedom but then again i dont like all the security i have to go thru either, in fear isnt the way to live folks

His stuff is not deranged. All you have to do is stay far away from anything hinting at child porn, and you'll be ok.

I am neither a terrorist nor a school shooter and I resent that remark. There is nothing funny about either subject. Perhaps you haven't lived through something like 9/11 or a school shooting, but I have.

Can you write about it? That depends on how well you can do it. It would have to be well researched and probably character driven rather than plot driven ... In other words, you would have to tell your readers why your characters were acting this way - not how they were acting. That would take a great deal of research and information. As we have found out time and time again after these incidents, there are reasons for them. There are people who feel slighted or betrayed or hopeless ... Quite often, they feel teased or tormented. That would all have to come into play in your story. No, you probably couldn't write a deranged Stephen King type story - in fact Stephen King isn't even doing that anymore. The trend now is towards character driven stories. People want to know why. They want to know the background behind these people -- as sick as that sometimes can be. They also want to know the stories behind the victims. Think of a sensitive approach. A way to tell the story of how these events destroy people's lives. Then you have yourself a story. If you intend to glorify it, then don't waste your time and give yourself carpal tunnel syndrome writing. It won't fly. Pax- C

i do no longer think of that there is any component answering this, considering Ivy had lined very almost each little thing yet in any case ( just to no longer disappoint you Kitty (???) ) : the main straight forward subjects/subjects many times seen among youthful writers : one million) Vampire love memories.a woman ( particularly a Mary Sue ) falls for mysterious,good-looking, sturdy, distant guy at school/college/college. he or she had moved to a clean community, the place they meet with one yet another ( how prototype ) ! the girl tries to be certain what the guy hides from her ( how unique ), and he or she places herself in large danger { vampire dudes are after her and stuff }.yet, no count what happens, on the top they stay thankfully ever after ... 2) Angel/Demon memories { romance } and something that has to do with paranormal creatures falling in love usually ! 3) Ghost love memories . 4) adventure memories, the place a woman ( a brilliant form of the time ) has a particular power and is going on a quest. 5) woman gets pregnant/raped/abused/tortured via a stranger, her boyfriend, her husband, her father ... 6) Emo memories that adjust.returned, romance ! (purely such as you reported ) ! 7) Zombie memories, alien memories ... 8) delusion memories with made up worlds, villages, etc ( I even have seen a gaggle of them right here on B&A ) ! 9) memories with woman slaves, pirates, princesses etc etc ... ... that's all i will think of of.If something pops out of nowhere in my suggestions, i will edit later :) ...
