i want a good book to read... something like the alex jackson series books... (grommet, wma, closing out are all part of the alex jackson series). I relly really liked those books, but i HATE all other genre of books... I like books about real teenage life, especially involving high school and real life teenage matters (sex, drugs, friends, etc.) any suggestions?

I checked out 2 books from my public library. I kept them on my bookcase where I keep my other books. I dropped them off in the return box that is kept outside and during labor day weekend (while it was raining) I returned them. The books were in perfect condition when I dropped them off and now the library wants me to pay for them growing mold. All my other books that I keep on the bookcase has no mold what so ever.

I imagine it varies from place to place, but just the basics would be great, I suppose. Do you have insurance (medical, dental, etc.) while you're under contract, while your books are still selling, lifetime, what? Do they expect you to go out and get your own insurance? Family coverage? Pre-existing conditions? Is it group insurance? Any questions I forgot to ask, could you answer them while you're at it?

Yeah, I'm kinda looking for good news for my family. Some of them already think I'm crazy for pursuing this, but they're the ones who don't read what I write and when they do say "so what?"

Thanks all!

I'm trying to get a gift for the lovely guy that I'm seeing. He's lent me The Time Traveller's Wife by by Audrey Niffenegger recently and I thought would be nice if I got him something similar. Can you recommend any good books you're reading?

I need a very emotional tear jerking book that is good for public speaking. BAsically anything that will make people cry or make you feel uncomfortable. It needs to be PG 13 rated.

I want to know more about the writing style used by James Frey in "A Million Little Pieces". Some ideas are explained in full sentences, others are not. Is there a particular name for this, any guidelines one should follow to write in this manner?

Thanks

I've been checking in lately on national magazine's to publish my short stories in, such as weird tales magazine. Problem is,

Does anyone else know of any diffrent magazines? Or anything for that matter

I've read some books by Sarah Dessen (Teen romance novels) and loved them. I also read the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer and loved those books as well.

Are there any other books out there besides them that are a good teen romance story?

Also, I love books that are told in first person.

Thanks and 10 points for best answer =)

I have read the Maximum Ride series as well as When the Wind Blows and The Lake House. Are there some books out there like these? I don't care what age group but I prefer them to be older than a childrens book :). Young teens, You adult, Adult.... Also, were movies made of any of these - no the Lake House does not have Sandra Bullock in it - or any movies that have the same sort of subject?

I am 16 and writing a novel. I want it to be a good size, so at least 80,000 words. I go to school, get homework and go out all day on Saturdays.

Can you recomend a reasonable amount of words per day for me, a target for me to aim to. Thanks for your thoughts.

To reiterate, I am just wondering what would be a good goal to set. I work better if I have a goal.An I just wasting my time if I only write 300 words a day? Would I be better off aiming for 1000?

I hadn't read the book; only seen the movie, so I didn't know what to think when I heard all the talk about how different the movie was from the book. There's some stuff that I don't like, for instance Arya's character being changed from an Elf to a human, which the movie did. But, I think that the movie fixed a lot of stuff and improved some stuff. Does anyone else agree?

Does anyone know of any books they think I would like? I love sci-fi/fantasy and some of my favorite books are Ranger's Apprentice, Alex Rider books, Double Helix, Maximum Ride, Ender's Game, Seventh Tower, Hell Phone, The Bar Code Tattoo, Uglies, City of Darkness, Truesight, The City of Ember, The Giver, etc.
I feel like I've run out of enjoyable things to read at my library and need some suggestions, thanks! I'm a teen, so I'd prefer if books were in that age group.

Would rather avoid a history book or textbook. Could be fiction, but something that would give me an idea of what it was like to live in NYC then.
