I hadn't read the book; only seen the movie, so I didn't know what to think when I heard all the talk about how different the movie was from the book. There's some stuff that I don't like, for instance Arya's character being changed from an Elf to a human, which the movie did. But, I think that the movie fixed a lot of stuff and improved some stuff. Does anyone else agree?

By the way, guys, I didn't say I "haven't read the book", I said "hadn't" as in "prior to seeing the movie". Okay?

I watched the movie, and thought that it was 'pretty' good so I got the books. And so far honestly, I hate them. They bore me to death. The author's style of writing is ominous....

I totally think the book was the best. The movie left out so much and changed so much that I could hardly follow it good enough to enjoy it. Of course, I knew what was happening b/c I'd read the book three or four times before the movie ever came out. However, I think that although they had to delete some things to fit the movie into a shorter time frame so that ppl wouldnt have to sit through a four hour long movie, they should have left all the details in it. The young man who played Eragon was an alright actor but I hadn't pictured him as he was. To me, Eragon in the book was much more coragious and less timid and stupid as the movie Eragon had been.

All in all, I absolutely loved the book but the movie left a lot to be wanted.

The Movie did not do justice to the book. The book had more character development and gave more of the storyline then the Movie could do. If youre a reader the Book will be much better.

If you didn't read the book, how did you know she was an Elf?

I liked the book much better. It went into him learning magic a lot more than the movie did. It also went more into the teacher's past and his powers.

well, eragon is a really good book but what i really didn't like about the movie was that, to me, it seemed short. it seemed like a lot of things were left out of the movie. and i also agree with you with the whole arya changing thing.....they should've made arya look like the elf she really is

I didn't like the book... it was boring to me, and since I LOVE fantasy that's saying a lot. Because of that, I never gave the movie a chance.... but I might try it just to see what i think.
