I am looking for a book to give to my grandparents in order to get a written history of their lives. It's a book that has a lot of questions for them to answer, such as where they grew up, how they met, etc. I don't know what these type of books are even called, and I've looked at both Borders and B&N, and larger retailers such as Target and Walmart. I know these books exsist, but I don't even know what they are called or where I can find them!

Any topic, any book but a good one! I'm a 29 year old pregnant woman and I like those books that when you finish them you feel kind of happy or motivated or amazed!

I want to write him a fan letter. He was an author that wrote "The Nine Tasks of Mistry." It`s a highly illustrated book. Is he even alive anymore?

Somebody ought to keep tabs on how many questions a day the question (Looking for a good book) is asked...Say, you got any good books to read? Classics are the best - I loved Thomas Hardy (already finished all of the best-known of his books), Mark Twain, Margaret Mitchell's Gone With the Wind, Sherlock Holmes, Kipling's Captains Courageous, and Dickens's Oliver Twist, and some. Suggestions are warmly, warmly welcomed!

Preferably non-fiction. I'm looking for something in the style of Michael Lewis (I've read most of his work so no need to recommend any of it).

Sometimes, you see Answerers who aren't content to reply in monosyllables - nope, they write essays. I love them. The organization, the structure - they're so beautiful, I could cry. Where else can I find this, in undiluted form, on the World Wide Web? (or in a bookstore, preferably the former, due to my location in a non-English-speaking country)

Hint: I'd like contemporary sources. I've hoarded (and am reading) all the classic books sites one could need in a lifetime. Right now, I'd like to sit back and rest m y brain a little. Think TIME magazine, but not so current-news-y. Blogs must be genuinely good, as in publisher-worthy. I've got high standards. : b

Don't put childrens books. Drama, romance and action are good.

I am going to edit a book of 60,000 words, 209 pages, but I'm not sure how much to charge as the client said price is negotiable and this is my first editing job. I don't want to charge too much and ruin chances with future clients, but I don't want to do it for nothing either.

The job includes proof-reading, editing, and giving comments on character development and the overall structure of the novel.

Please tell me what is the biggest learning lesson you observed in it.

I can read the book on my own or go to Wikipedia but just really busy for all that. Those who've read already please share whatever you LIKED best about it.

Waiting for some really good answers.

Cheers

OK, I'm 16 and I usually read trashy novels but this summer I have to read one out of:
Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte)
or David Copperfield (Charles Dickens)

and one out of:
The Handmaid's Tale (Margaret Atwood)
Dubliners (James Joyce)
Sons and Lovers (D H Lawrence)
The Beloved (Toni Morrison)
Midnight's Children (Salman Rushdie)

Any suggestions on which I should go for? Thanks
