if this is not a prank and you do have a genuine handwritten book of poetry by lord alfred tennyson, then you should email or call Sotheby's auction house...

Was he related to the famous Alfred, Lord Tennyson? Lord Tennyson's work certainly would be valuable. Take it to a book expert at an auction house - not any old antique shop!

Get it appraised. If it's really written by Alfred Lord Tennyson by his own hand, it could be worth a lot.

Your best bet is take it to a roadhouse acution and get it apprised by someone who knows the value of things of that nature. Goodluck.
