You can buy guitar tablature that does not require any formal training of any kind to read. Most of this can be bought at music stores like Sam Ash and Guitar Center, or your local music shops.

All kinds of music is widely available from: The Beatles, Metallica, Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, Chet Atkins, etc. If you can think of it there is probably guitar tab for it.

Simply purchase a beginner's guitar chord book. Inside will be basic music theory and exercises, instructions on how to tune and play the guitar, and bunches of chords.

If you cannot read music, then there is no book that can help you do this. You really need to learn chords, etc.

Learn to read music.
Then get any book you want.
