Oh me too! I loved the Trixie Belden books. And you're so right, Nancy Drew was second-best in the girl detective type of books. I never cared for Nancy because like you said she was just too perfect, a perfect little rich girl with her own car. Trixie was more realistic, a girl who had siblings and lived on a farm and had to do chores. Trixie Belden was much more likable than Nancy Drew.

Hey, when is someone going to do a Trixie Belden movie?

I enjoyed both Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew when I was in junior high in the 1960s, but Trixie Belden probably hooked me on mystery novels as a fun read. Who wouldn't want to be befriended by the wealthy and glamorous Honey Wheeler, along with her adopted brother Jim, and then form an exclusive club that solves mysteries.

I used to enjoy reading Trixie Belden books as a young girl. Bookworm has it right about Trixie being a more believable character. I did enjoy Nancy Drew & probably read more of her stories, but Trixie rocked!

I read Trixie Belden when I was in elementary school. It lead me to read Nancy Drew. Now I read The Cat Who series by Lillian Jackson Braun and the Spenser Novels by Robert Parker. I also love the Sherlock Holmes Books too.
