Preferably non-fiction. I'm looking for something in the style of Michael Lewis (I've read most of his work so no need to recommend any of it).

If you like baseball, "Ball Four" by Jim Bouton is excellent. What he did was basically keep a diary during his years pitching for the Yankees and the Seattle Pilots (expansion team that lasted one year), and then published it. It caused great controversy in the baseball world because it exposed a lot of drug use and spousal cheating by baseball players. It's an interesting and hysterically funny book, and the closest thing a fan will get to being a fly on the clubhouse wall. I recommend it.

Good luck and happy reading! :-)

I really like the story about that surfer girl whose arm got bitten off by a shark. She is an amazing athlete. Sorry but I can't remember the name of the book or the girl. It is nonfiction. (Nonfiction is what is true, fiction is false).

Touching the Void--This is if you are including outdoor sports. It's a crazy story of a guy surviving a really bad fall and crawling back to camp with a shattered knee. If you are into thos kinds of stories there is another book and I can't think of the name, but it is by aron ralston. He cut off his own hand to save his life while rock climbing. Also, look up books by John Feinstein. I haven't read any yet, but I heard him do a radio interview. He's really interesting and sounds like a great writer. Like I said I haven't read his books, but I look forward to reading them. Here's a list of them...
