Cultural relativism is the principle that an individual human's beliefs and activities should be interpreted in terms of his or her own culture. Moreover, this is an issue that we still face now in days due to the differences among societies. Achebe, who wrote Things Fall Apart proves to us that relativism affects everyone, leading to confrontation and disgrace among societies. Throughout the novel of Things Fall Apart we learn on how cultural relativism affects early Africans societies. Achebe proves to us that relativism affects everyone, and it only leads to disagreement and disgrace. These is reflected when the Africans look down on the outcast, and the whites look down on the Africans.

OK, so my friend and I are writing a book, and we think it's really good, maybe even enough to publish when we're done and have finished editing. A lot of other people think so, too. Well, we've posted it on a website to get constructive criticism and such from people and it's turned out to be really helpgul and we've gotten a lot of great feedback. But I realized that couldn't someone copy and paste it? I though maybe we could copyright it, but we're both underage and I think it costs money. Does it? I really think we could go somewhere with this, and I don't want it to get stolen. Am I just being paranoid?

So I am in this mood to write. Now, I have a few story ideas brewing in my mind, but I was wondering what the general public would think. I want to write something aimed for teenage to adult audiences. If none of the ideas sound good, I'm open to any suggestion!! Please help- I'm in that mood.

MY IDEAS

Holocaust story- I'd try not to make it like all the other ones, focusing more on a romance between either a German man and a Jewish woman, or two Jews being torn apart

Modern day 'teen type' drama-
a). Kid A loves Kid B, but then Kid B dies, Kid A must learn to cope while Kid C comes into the picture (something else would happen that's dramatic)- involves horses
b). Kid A moves to a new town after his father dies and meets Kid B and falls in love with her. But Kid B is being abused by her mother.

What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and the impotent, are my masters? Can someone interpret the words for me? I mean it's one of those quotes that I understand but can't put to print. I think it has something to do with his vulnerability and individualism, but I'm not so sure.

hmmm okay so the prophecy clearly states "neither can live while the other survives"

jk rowling states that "she and trelawny 'carefully worded'" it.

maybe this means... that neither voldemort nor harry can live with "the other" survives.... maybe this "other" is not harry nor voldemort... maybe it's some other person...

any thoughts?

as my body trembles,
I plug my ears,
I just can't take it anymore,
can't take the,
nagging,
pestilence,
antagonism,
rivalry,
demoralization,
brutality,
or even the bellows or blows i recieve,
my hands shake,
at every sound she makes,
can't she just go away,
and save me from my,
pain,
depression,
or anger?
Why can't she just leave?
"Leave!" I say,
"at least for the day!"

I've become very interested in the cold war lately and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good books about it? It doesn't matter if it's fiction or not, I would read either. Spy books are also something that I would like to read. I would be grateful for any suggestions.

What do you think of what I have written? Please give me an honest critique, and your honest opinions, and reasons why..! Thank you!

Let your mind fathom its own imagery and scenic prospect before you click on the link. Take a long-awaited deep breath and delve slowly into the dream...
The sun is high and the air clear. The surface of the river is like a mirror to the surrounding landscape. Peace is imminent, if only for a short while. The day has been stressful and your body is tense. There exists a mound of work yet to be done, but you decide it is best to seek a short reprieve. You stroll along the riverside and step, ever slowly and ever so carefully, into your canoe. You wish not to go for a paddle, but to relax and enjoy the serenity present in your midst. You stretch out your legs and lean back into a comfortable position. The sky is light with few clouds and exists as that timely blue. The way you expect the sky to be on a perfect day in the summertime. You take a deep breath…Inhale…Exhale…Inhale…Exhale… At last, you have a few moments of tranquility in your days.
You close your eyes and grasp every drop of nectar from this flower of peace. Slowly you open your eyes. You notice the evergreen trees, swaying slightly as a cool breeze swifts by. All colors are pure… The green of the grass and trees is a deep, thankful tone. Your house comes into view. It is a quiet little house, white on the outside with brown shingles. This is the place you most long to be. You take another deep breath of soothing, fresh air while reveling in the sunlight and all this moment has to offer.
You nod off for a few moments and later are awakened by the birds' song, feeling refreshed and renewed. Calmly you arise from your restful position and make your way towards your home. Though you spent a mere ten minutes musing over a single moment, it felt like a never-ending eternity of peace. The work still exists and the chaos is still present, but now you have the patience necessary to persevere…

Now, once you have discovered your own wishful refuge, do not remain there for all of eternity. Reality does exist and you cannot escape it and you should not ever attempt to. There are times when we all could use a little relaxation and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but we mustn't remain in our "own little world" for too long. There is indeed a time and place for everything.

Psalm 46:10 reads, "Be still and know that I am God." Take one minute, every day, to just be still and know that He is God.
