- Fred and George give Harry the Marauder's Map (sp?)
and can anyone think of a GOOD example of when Fred and George lied to save their own skin?

When I say lie, I don't mean a huge lie that hurts people or anything like that. I meant a little lie, maybe getting out of trouble with their mother?

They gave Harry the Marauder's Map in The Prisoner of Azkaban (3rd book)
Fred and George don't really ever LIE, actually. They just...alter the truth, and leave bits out... I guess you could call it lying by ommision, but when they're caught, they usually just own up and are like, "Yeah, we did it, so what?" That's the great thing about Fred and George. (Fred is cooler, though!)

Harry got the map in book 3...honestly I can't ever remember when Fred & George ever really out and out lied. Although they caused a lot of trouble with their jokes etc. most of it was all in good fun.

The third book is when they gave Harry the map. I don't think they lied to save their own skins but they do hide things from teachers, parents, fellow students all throughout the books.

They gave the map to harry in the 3rd book and the only thing i can think of about the second question is they didnt tell anyone how they got the money to start their joke shop (got it from harry his triwizard winnings) but i dont know if they lied about it.

THat's a good point that you made about Fred & George lying. I can't seem to think of one either. They do alot of pranks & get into trouble alot, but lying....hmm. Nope, can't recall one. They just take the blame.

I can tell u that they give him the map in the third book, Prisoner of Azkaban. Saving their own skin... I'm not too sure. I'll look for it and if I find out, I'll give you another answer. :)

Lying to save their own skin? They seem to do that quite a lot, like the time they gave Dudley a bewitched toffee or when they stole their dad's flying car.

I dont think they ever actually lie to save their own skin. They seem to be the kind of guys who fall in **** and come out smelling like roses. They might be goof offs but I dont think they are liars. C.
