I need information about the setting the novel The Little Prince, where does it occurs, when, what details develope the setting, the enviromental that surroundss the characters. Does the setting affect the characters? Is the setting essentil or it could have happened anywhere?

I read these stories in an anthology when I was in high school and they stuck with me but I cannot for the life of me remember the titles or the authors. Any help is appreciated.

First, there was a story about a bird collector that wanted to find a phoenix. He finally did, or maybe he died before his estate acquired one. Anyways, they treated the bird poorly so that it would burn and be reborn but when it did the fire was so large it burned all of the people who had come to watch it.

Second, there was a story of a man who took his son and another young boy (a nephew maybe) out fishing but they got stuck on an island and the boat drifted away and the man gave the boys whiskey to try and keep them warm but they eventually all drowned when the tide came in.

Third, there was a story about a man who was in a driving test simulation and killed a young girl in a horrible crash. When he still wanted to get his license, they locked him up because he was obviously not fit to be in society.
