For example, Jack and the Beanstalk. With the cow that Jack sold for the magic beans.
Other than fairytales, they can be TV shows or cartoon characters.
I'm writing an essay on cows. :):) haha.

I know in the pop culture version of the story, the monster breathes life through a bolt of electricity. After reading the novel, I can't recall any part of the book that actually states how he is brought to life, through electricity or otherwise. Did I miss it, or was that just a detail added on later?

Okay, not to be geeky or anything but the last and final harry potter book is coming out in july...in previous books it has stated that Voldemort and Harry can't both be living, one has to die.
Do you think she'll kill off Harry or Voldemort??

yay, another long lost book from my childhood.

so I need help figuring out what book I'm talking about. it was around when i was in elementary school which was about 10 or 12 years ago. so it's kinda old. it was about a circle and a square and a bunch of shapes that were friends. I don't remember much beyond that, just some shapes that were colors and friends and I think there were a few of these books.

thanks in advance.

WHEN THE TWO SISTERS GO TO FETCH WATER

by: Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941)

When the two sisters go to fetch water, they come to this spot and they smile.
They must be aware of somebody who stands behind the trees whenever they go to fetch water.

The two sisters whisper to each other when they pass this spot.
They must have guessed the secret of that somebody who stands behind the trees whenever they go to fetch water.

Their pitchers lurch suddenly, and water spills when they reach this spot.
They must have found out that somebody's heart is beating who stands behind the trees whenever they go to fetch water.

The two sisters glance at each other when they come to this spot, and they smile.
There is a laughter in their swift-stepping feet, which makes confusion in somebody's mind who stands behind the trees whenever they go to fetch water.

....MAKES NO SENSE!

Does anyone know of a literary work where the main theme is dillusionment when a mythical world turns out to be much less than expected? You know, when a society believes in the existence of a utopian golden city or something, and when the hero explorer finds the place, but it turns out to be nothing special at all?
