James Patterson is one of the best. His thrillers are excellent. They aren't historical though.

Labyrinth by Kate Mosse is great, or u can try The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova.

well it's not a lot of history but you can check out Harry Potter if you're going to read this might wanna start at the first book. you can also try narnia

anything by vince flynn is very good. you get a little bit of political history and lots of suspence.

also, any of dan brown's books are great
