I like writing about teenage or comedy epics, kids that get into severe 'street' trouble (poss. drugs, pregnancy). This would be for mature teens, and I thank anyone that answers, but please do it appropiately. All answers are appreciated. I know that writers use their own life expriences (sry spelling) and I plan on useing a huge part of it exactly like that (of course changing names, places, etc.) but for teh subjects I have not gone through, (drugs, teen pregnancy) I would like some insight. I'd like this to be a book like Smack by Melvin Burgess, or Crank like Ellen Hopkins. Thanks Again.

This sentence is the title of a music album (Femme Fatale), but I read it elsewhere.
I think that I read it in one of the gospel, but wich one ? The complete references would be very useful...

In her room at the prow of the house
Where light breaks, and the windows are tossed with linden,
My daughter is writing a story.

I pause in the stairwell, hearing
From her shut door a commotion of typewriter-keys
Like a chain hauled over a gunwale.

Young as she is, the stuff
Of her life is a great cargo, and some of it heavy:
I wish her a lucky passage.

But now it is she who pauses,
As if to reject my thought and its easy figure.
A stillness greatens, in which

The whole house seems to be thinking,
And then she is at it again with a bunched clamor
Of strokes, and again is silent.

I remember the dazed starling
Which was trapped in that very room, two years ago;
How we stole in, lifted a sash

And retreated, not to affright it;
And how for a helpless hour, through the crack of the door,
We watched the sleek, wild, dark

And iridescent creature
Batter against the brilliance, drop like a glove
To the hard floor, or the desk-top,
And wait then, humped and

It starts with a trader who sells his white horse to a knight of king Arthur's round table. He's taken to a room and allowed to pick any treasure to trade for his hourse. He picks a brimstone gem

Then two children a boy called Colin and a girl arrive at a town to stay with family (a town in Yorkshire-can't remember where)

Anyway, the two children discover the brimstone and start getting chased by these ugly evil creatures. I can't remember much else, sorry.

I hope someone can help as I'd love that book

My 9 year old recently wrote a 30 page story he is interested in having published. I don't wish to discourage him in this endeavor as I believe it is an admriable and constructive one. Does anyone know about resources for child authors? Are there laws regarding children having books published? Is self-publishing the only way to go? If anyone has any suggestions as to where to start, I, and my son would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

I just finished re-reading the books and i think i have come to the conclusion that there will never be a series like this one again. These books are my childhood, and now 19 i am still in love with them. I think there is a bond between people and these books that cannot be broken. I will be very sad when the 7th book comes out and i finish that last page, but i think all good things must come to an end. Maybe someday i will find another series like it, so if you have any suggestions that would be great.

Thanks,
And to HP the greatest series i have ever known.
