Great wine is fine, but a whiskeys quicker
Suicide is slower when drinking liquor
Drown your drink demons with a full bottle
But your demons are there fighting full throttle

Knocking on the passing doors, awaking dead
Stumble in wondering when you’re alone
So I make my bed. Rest my drunken head.
Nights just a blur so I lie there and moan

On the next morning I am feeling rough
I Guess the night before must have been tough
Feeling sick as I slumped off the sofa
Then have a flash back, I hired a shofer

People drink their silly self too death why?
Suicide by drinking makes you stop thinking!

As I am sitting there in my class room, people shouting in my ear, being nasty, I sit and think of the stories I have heard from war!
Bombs flying over head just like the paper airoplanes dashing towards my desk, all the tears of sorrow, that I hide inside are leaking onto one peice of paper like the blood from a wounded soldier, all the bodies all around from the passed classes strike me down!
Now as I lay there on the floor, I am reminded of all the blood and gore!!

Please read some of my other poems!

Preferably starts with an, "S"

originally it was going to be 'Saph' where her dad expected her eyes to be blue but they turned out to be brown like his. (It's short for Sapphire which she will comment on how thats such a stripper name)

So any other ideas if you don't like that one?

My own favorite is "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Best last paragraph ever written: "Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then--but that's no matter--tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms a little farther--until one fine morning---So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."
How can you top that? In those words, Fitzgerald captures the entire "American Dream," and how it continues to elude so many of us.

Hi I got a chapters gift certificate and want to pick a couple good books to get lost in. I am just finished reading The Dark Tower and feel like I need something a little less depressing. Something I can get sucked into. Something rich and discriptive, preferably historical or maybe a really good horror.

Thanks

I'm am open minded to all suggestions, please leave me a reason why you like that book or author ...

I just finished 3 of Dan Brown's 4 books (I still need to read Digital Fortress) & I am searching for suggestions on more authors that I would like ...

Also I just read "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" by Kim Edwards. Loved that.

I prefer stories based on real people, events, or history.

I really like these authors.

But I want suggestions for more.

I would like to read more about:

Native American stories or history,
Lives of amazing people,
True stories of real life events, &
Even action/mystery/thrillers like what Dan Brown has.

I have even read a few on the acts of serial killers & how they solved the cases. Those were okay, interesting I use to love Steven King. But for some reason lost my intrest and took a break for those books.

I got some books by Maya Angelou from Ebay I think she is great.

I'll take any & all suggestions!

Thanks a lot! :)

any sites that can publish my poems free because poetry.com is one i tried but they make you pay after sending you an email saying "...we don't send this to many people..." and "...i wrote this personally to inform you..." and then when some one sent in one with nonsence on it they sent the same email to them and asked them to pay that is unbelevable. Does anyone know where to find a site where i can put my poems on free and maybe if they are good enough get them published

I used to read it all the time when I was little, it had a red cover and was about some mice. They all lived together then two of them got married and they got a daisy tied round their wrists for a ring. The married mice had to find a place to live and I think they got chased by cats until they found a dolls house that had been dumped to live in. Can anyone remember it? Would love to get it for my kids!
