With Bukowksi it seems you either love him or hate him.

I have read, Ham On Rye, Post Office, Women, Factotum, The Most Beautiful Girl In Town and am reading Tales Of Ordinary Madness.

Bukowski appeals to my darker nature.

I'm not a fan of sci fi or war/history... maybe a medical thriller, suspense thriller, true life, or an adventure. Give me the title and a quick description!

The name totally slipped my mind, and I left my book at school and I need her name to write an essay. So if by any chance you happen to remember her name, that would be great. Thanks.

I really want a good book but I can't seem to find any. My favorite author is Stephen King, but I have read everything by him, I LOVED LOVED the Dark Tower series he wrote but dislike all other fantasy. What should I read? I also like James Patterson because his stuff is simple, I have also read everything by him though....

k, ive tried desperately to understand this poem, n each time i come up with a brand new idea abt each stanza, very confusing! it's complexity lies in its simplicity, spent hrs trying to solve it like a puzzle n afraid of giving a wrong meaning as it's very important, anyway ur answers are greatly appreciated.

Heres the Summery...

He has no name, no home, no family and no background. He steals food, sleeps in the street and survives by not getting caught. He is called a Jew, a filthy son of Abraham, a Gypsy, and Stop Thief. He sleeps in a cellar with a band of boys who are just like him, who steal to stay alive and do their best to go unnoticed by the Jackboots.

The Jackboots control Warsaw, Poland in 1939. They have power, uniforms that shine, and guns. It is not safe to be a Jew, a Gypsy or a homeless orphan. The best thing to be is invisible.

He learns his name is Misha and that he was a Gypsy until the day his family was bombed by the Jackboots, otherwise known as the Nazis. Uri, the leader of the street gang, tells him this. It is Uri who guides Misha through life on the streets, but when Misha sees a girl he knows herded into the Warsaw ghetto with her family, he knows he must follow her.

I wanted to do something wild so I wrote this about my teacher. But Im nervous about having to read it out loud in class.
Here it is

The A.T.M took my card and asked to be fed a stray cat
I looked at it weird and just had to say
Wouldn’t you prefer a nice wet juicy rat than a cat?
But it wanted a cat and gave me no money that day

I heard on T.V that being without pants was the hip thing to do
It didn’t have to make sense, styles and conformity
But the people around me wore pants and I only had on shoes
And than I realized the T.V had lied to me

I visited my sister in Greece, in the great Aegean Sea
She is an anorexic mermaid who surfaces to puke on boys
She hugged me as I told her conformity made no sense to me
And when I cried, she soothed me with an underwater noise

Why do we have to write poetry like the people in the past?
With each class I feel less a poet and more a dope
And most of the pretty scenery poetry you hear today in class
Sounds like the exaggerated poetry you hear on commercials about soap

And to my narrow minded poetry teacher who learned poetry only from books
And if the above line should offend him than to him I will say
I’ll tell him poetry is everywhere and in everything, if you just put the books down and look!
And I’d much rather be honest with you than live with a degrading grade A

Where can I buy Harry Potter books without the cartoony covers that seem to be everywhere? I have the Sorcerer's stone in a small paperback version that has an illustration of a person in a cloak and hood running into the woods. I've found the second Harry Potter with a similarly designed cover but I can't find the others anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find them? I hate the cartoon covers.

Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost
----------------------------------------------
nature's first green is gold,
her hardest hue to hold.
her early leaf's a flower;
but only so an hour.
then leaf subsides to leaf.
so eden sank to grief,
so dawn goes down to day.
nothing gold can stay.

“So they plunged into the woods, tripping sometimes over the tree limbs knocked down during winter storms, crashing through bush as if they were on safari in Africa, and after a while Adam began to enjoy himself.”

“It’s cold as I pedal along, the wind like a snake slithering up my sleeves and into my jacket and my pants legs, to.”

I'm not talking about erotica, in fact there is nothing erotic. I'm talking about the love between a couple that conflicts with their faith. Its about love and all the controversy of today's culture. Do you think that society would be interested in this type of story?
