I really want a good book but I can't seem to find any. My favorite author is Stephen King, but I have read everything by him, I LOVED LOVED the Dark Tower series he wrote but dislike all other fantasy. What should I read? I also like James Patterson because his stuff is simple, I have also read everything by him though....

Get American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It's a little out-there but it's an amazing book. Also, I agree with the first guy, just about anything by Dean Koontz is good.

I recently discovered the author Dan Brown.

So far I have read 3 of his books, my favorite of his so far is Angels & Demons.

You might like The Chronicles of Narnia.

Or my favorite all time book is "Phantom" by Susan Kay. Soon as I got into it I couldn't put it down!

Good Luck :)

Have you tried Terry Brooks? Check out The Sword of Shannara, it's a fantasy book but not your typical "geeky" type crap, sorry. If you end up liking that one he wrote a bunch more that follow it, but the first three or four are the best. FYI - start with The Sword of Shannara, not the prequel he wrote.

Well, the best author I have ever read is Alice Blanchard. She has written three mystery/thrillers, and all three were absolutely great (Darkness Peering, The Breathtaker, and Life Sentences) I would definitely recommend these.

If you've never red Ken Follett, I recommend you get going. Start with one of his best. It's intense and at times it becomes quite gruesome. But that's probably about how life was in those dark ages. The name of the bood - PILLARS OF THE EARTH. All but a couple of his books are very good reading.

try the gregory maguire series. the first two to read are "wicked" and "son of a witch". they are reallly good, I just finished t hem myself and I also loved the dark tower series. it is much deeper and more "adult" than the harry potter stuff, by the way, before you blow it off at some kind of harry potter knock-off.
