With Bukowksi it seems you either love him or hate him.

I have read, Ham On Rye, Post Office, Women, Factotum, The Most Beautiful Girl In Town and am reading Tales Of Ordinary Madness.

Bukowski appeals to my darker nature.

Genius, he represents everything we really want to be. Free and indifferent to the laws of modern society.

Ham On Rye is one of my all time favourite books.

I've had a literary crush on Bukowski for years. Right now I'm reading RUN WITH THE HUNTED - a collection of some of his earlier works.

He was a genius, a poet, a drunk and a womanizer...and he was extraordinary...

Heh. Ernest Hemingway was a drunken old womanizer and no one seemed to mind. But I have read much Hemingway and really despise him.

Most brilliant people have been drunks and drug addicts. It's nothing unusual and no coincidence.
