I like all types of books. Basically, I'll read anything that's good. I have my favorites in each genre:

Mystery--
I love Sherlock Holmes. My favorite mystery with him is A Scandal in Bohemia, and I also like Five Orange Pips a lot, but mostly because I find one line in it very amusing.

Science Fiction--
I don't read much Sci Fi, but my favorite by far is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. The book is funny and interesting. The one downside is that it is so short.

Fantasy Series--
Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling and The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis are both excellent series'. You never want to put the book down!
Also, A Series of Unfortunate Events is really good. You might think that it's just for kids, but although it is a children's book, the background mystery is so complicated it would be hard for even an adult to figure it all out. These books really keep you reading!

Fantasy Trilogies--
1) Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien. Yes, it is technically one book, but I'll put it in this category. If you like this, you'll probably also like The Hobbit.
2) The Inheritance Trilogy (Eragon, Eldest, and ?) by Christopher Paolini -- These books are amazing! You'll be amazed to hear that Paolini wrote Eragon when he was just 15 years old!
3) The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathon Stroud -- Not your typical fantasy trilogy! It's from the point of view of a smart-aleck djinni, and it takes place in an alternate reality of modern-day London.

My 3 Favorite Books in General:
1) Wicked by Gregory MacGuire
2) A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving -- This book is fantastic. I could talk about it for hours. I did it for independent reading in school once, and the maximum we had to write was 4 pages... Not once was I able to write below that maximum. The title may imply a boring religious book, but A Prayer for Owen Meany is both inspirational, exciting and HILARIOUS.
3) Angels & Demons by Dan Brown -- You know that feeling you get when you finish a good book? Well I had that fuzzy feeling all through this book. It's exciting and my heart was beating so fast as I was reading it. If you've ever read the Da Vinci Code, this is like that, except MUCH better.

So yes, I obviously love to read.

I love it. I've read everything from science fiction, Frank Herbert's Dune series, to fantasy, David Eddings' Belgariad and Mallorean, Richard Adams' Watership Down, detective thrillers, Jonathan Kellerman's Therapy and The Murder Book, to horror, Anne Rice's Vampire Chrionicles, to gothic historical romance Chelsea Quinn Yarboro's Saint Germain series. I've also read family sagas like Colleen McCollogh's The Thorn Birds and her historical novel Last Man in Rome. I've also read prehistoric themed novels such as Earth's Children by Jean M Auel and William Sarabande's First Americans.

My favorite books are young adult, paranormal and urban fantasies. I read for pleasure and my favorite books have the ability to take me away from my everyday life and into the fantastic. Most especially I love stories that have a bit of romance in them as well.
