"The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" series are really good. Also, Phyllis Reynolds Naylor is a great author, she writes a series about a young girl named Alice. However, I would say both are fun to read but are not in the same genre as harry potter or the others you mentioned.

Podkayne of Mars by Robert Heinlien.

Be aware the ending is a little sad, but it is a great book. It is the diary of a teenage girl (Podkayne... or "Poddy") who comes from a rather distinguished family on Mars. Her Uncle (a hero of the Martian Revolution) takes her and her little brother (who she detests) on a trip to see Venus and Earth. She meets a very dreamy guy, and gets mixed up in some adventures along the way.

Heinlien wrote a great many sci-fi adventure books for young boys, but aside from a few short stories this is his only book for young girls. More's the pity.

The "Nancy Drew Mysteries" series are great. They have been around for a long, long time because they have stood the test of time. Also, it get's away from the pre-programming of religiosity.
