E.g. thus, thy, o'er.

I can't stand them. I think that we should use the language of the time, not stuff from another time period and a culture that is not ours.

Poetry doesnt equal rhyme and old words.

Stale Cookies

You hurt me today,
Made me feel horrible.

You made my heart ache,
As you yelled at me.

My day was ruined,
All because of you.

And now I sit here,
Eating stale cookies and sour milk.

My soul is damaged,
My anger alight.

I hate you,
But I don't want to.

You made these cookies stale,
This milk sour.

You affect me,
Sometimes in good ways sometimes in bad.

My friends cheered me up a little,
Apparently you're too good for that.

No problem shattering me,
Yet you never put me back together.

My friends are my wall,
You are my tormentor.

I must mend,
With rotten cookies in your place.

Thanks for the company,
I love you too.

My friends are my cookies,
My family the milk.

Why do you ruin them?
Why do you care?

I mend here,
You hurt more.

When will it be enough?
These stale cookies, all gathered inside

Hi. Okay, I have a question about the book. Pretty simple to but I am just dumb so I don't get it. WHO exactly sent out that evil message through the cell phones? I just never figured that out...I read the whole book but I don' t get the logistics of it....thank you!!! Feel free to elaborate on what you think of the book to, let me know what it was all about.

Bright Light

The white light that shines
Hurts the eyes,
So I retreat in pain
Until the light dims
Enough for my dark eyes
To open without aching.
This light is much better;
It is welcoming, comforting.
It wraps around me
And soothes the last throbs away
From my eyes, my mind.
A relaxing glow
To match my own.
I recall the glare
Of the harsh light above
And I shudder,
Until I feel the easy light
Hug me in its warmth
And I know I am all right.
To those who wish
For the harsh white light
That confines the soul:
It is yours; you can have it.
Stay up there!
I love this dim crimson light
As it loves me.
It's flames keep me burning;
I am its happy child.

I have considered changing "happy" in the last line to content, devoted, loving, or willing.

OLD THINGS

As a young woman,

I’d wander around my mother’s home
and find corners of distressed clutter
which begged for brown-papered flight
to naked people who'd find God
in piles of old clothes.

The Bakelite burner failed
to enlighten as to why my mother
was so moved by Depression glass
in boxes of cornflakes.

Peach silk lingered with faded crepe,
and frayed scraps of lacy veils
unravelled long dead vows.

Utility brides poised on council steps
armed with big eared men, geared
for civilisation in bags of grey twill,
the lonely Irish
hearts flapping
in the English wind.

Later, a faded affair
freed from oak drawers, creaky
with dirt. An unknown French hand
elegant in blue italics,
runs wet on wet.

She never understood resistance.

A silk stocking lying stale.
Its partner lost.

As an old woman, I wander.
