I would have to say King, I just like his work better, I don't think anything can compare to his Darktower seires or It or the Stand. But Koontz was good with phantoms.

Who do you think is better and why?

I'm looking for books on a subject which I'm unable to fully explain. Are there any books you could recommend that deal with any of the following thought processes?

I often wonder if there's a reality that's more real than the one I've been fed. Is society this thing which I can label and hide away in my closet to pull out later and destroy? Or have I made it (society) also? Have I not built my own prison, and am now begging myself for the key? Futhermore, am I denying myself an exit? What about my childhood memories? Were they really so sweet, or did I add a touch of sugar when I wasn't looking? If I can only observe via my senses, then what is reality? Is it possible to know anything, really? Are our daily activities mere distraction? Does true mass awareness go hand in hand with destruction?

Okay here's the deal. I am supposed to teach Sunday school this Sunday. Our program is similar to a vacation Bible school and I am supposed to be doing a story telling lesson. There's only one problem. Our library doesn't have the book and I won't be able to get to the library that does. It is called "The Christmas Miracle of Jonathon Toomey". Can anyone give me an extremely detailed description of the book...maybe even the words? If not, does anyone have any ideas of what I could do to get around this obstacle?

If someone wrote a book or a screenplay based on a plot that shakespeare had used, but with modern situations, and nothing of the same written word, is that illegal? Do I HAVE to mention shakespeare if my screenplay is SOMETHING like one of his plays?

Is Shakespeare's work protected????

i really think it might be a good idea that if dan brown doesn't consult with milan micci he might at least read some of her material. i heard he attended her '85 lecture but he must have missed the last ten years of her research. the remains of mary magdelene are not kept at the louvre museum. perhaps ms. micci can tell him where they really are, lol. or maybe he can check out the website for her new trilogy of books "the christ code" www.thechristcodeofficial.com

I am compliling a list of what vampire lovers believe to be the best vampire novels of all time. The results will be published on a website I am creating on the mythology of vampires. In order to qualify, the novel must have (a) vampire(s) or vampirism as it's PRIMARY characters/theme. Please list the one, two or three best vampire novels you have ever read. Please include Title AND author and if you wish a brief synopsis and/or the reason you feel it is best. Thank You!

First, my book isn’t finished yet. I’m plugging along at it steadily and have been doing so for over a year, except that lately I’ve been too busy to really sit down and work on it. I’m not sure when it will be finished, but I hope to try for publication once I’ve completed it.

Second, it’s a fantasy novel. I’m not sure how competitive the market for fantasy novels is, though it seems (to me, anyway) that fantasy has become a more popular genre as of late. I think my plot idea is pretty original and I’ve been told by many people- including family, friends, teachers, and some complete strangers that my creative writing skills exceed those of most people my age (I’m 19). I’ve also had some poems and a short story published in a literary magazine as the result of a state-wide contest for young writers. I’m serious about being an author- I know writing novels isn’t something that can be an actual ‘career’, but its one of my life-long dreams to have a novel published.

The main problem is, I have no idea where to start once my book is finished. Do I look for a literary agent? Should I try to find one with an interest in the fantasy genre? What about potential publishers? Should I let several different people read the story before I attempt publication? Will I have problems getting people to take me seriously as a writer because of my age? Advice from published authors would be very much appreciated!

So many people cry at movies... people can be such saps.

What I want to know is - has there ever been a book that made you so emotional that you had trouble reading the words through your tears?

I have heard of this but have yet to experience it for myself.

I keep seeing this when agents list their interests. For example: "Literary and commercial fiction, historical fiction, women's fiction, thrillers, mysteryies, young adult..."

Would that mean any fiction? Would literary and commercial fiction by chance mean fantasy or sci fi?
