he was a coward for abandoning them when they needed him the most. In the novel Livesey and the others thought Jim was a coward and then forgave him after he told them where he went. In the film Livesey and the others didn’t think Jim was a coward, instead they were worried. The final difference I have is that when Long John silver is kept in a cage. Jim did something after that, but what? In the novel Long John is captured and put in a cage. Then Jim, and Dr. Livesey and the others go to South America to find more hands for the voyage home, when they come back Silver has escaped. In the film it is seen that Jim sneaks to silver’s cage and unlocks the cage so silver can escape. These are some differences between the film Treasure Island and the novel Treasure Island. What I think about these differences is that these helped the plot of the story because if the every part of the novel is the same in the film it would be more boring to see or read it over again. Another thing is that if

Ahy! Novel! Ahoy! Matety!

One difference of the novel Treasure Island and the film (the same name) was the personality of Jim. In the novel treasure Island Jim sounded he was brave, honest, adventures, and mature. In the film Jim was a cry baby, acted like a child, and made sad faces when he was heartbreaking. Their personalities were distinct. This was like having a twin but have a different personality. Another difference is when Billy Bones has a stroke; Jim and Mrs. Hawkins take something from Billy bone’s sea-chest and run. In the film they run to a place and in the novel they run to another place. In the novel Jim and Mrs. Hawkins take the package found in Billy Bone’s sea-chest and run under a bridge. In the film Jim and Mrs. Hawkins take the package and runs behind a bush. There are other differences like when Jim comes back to the stockade after he cuts the Hispaniola lose and sails it to the north inlet, John Long Silver says that Dr. Livesey and the others think he was a

Use examples to explain what Thoreau means in the final clause of this quote.

" I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front the essential facts of life, to see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived"

I have read this book a long time ago. It was written by an E. European author. It's about a group of boys who get turned into crows by someone.
I think the title has crows in it.

I have been thinking about this book for abou a year, I used to read it as a kid, but we moved houses and lost the book! Duh!
Could anyone help me?
I remember it was a fantasy fiction book, that appeared to be part of a series. I distincltly remember(this was a section in the book) an elf city where the main character (I think the name was Megan)travels to with another human from this world (Conrad or Colin I think) and there she slept for days- all her travelling companions did.
Anyway, it featured seers, a scrying pool, mages, a bit where the man protaganist (colin/conrad) is captured by a troll army and he escapes. Megan imprisoned, all of them travelling on a boat manned (!) by sea- orcs.
Sorry this is all so slapdash, but I can only vaguely remember flashes of details. ( I think the femal protaganist and the male were lovers once)
Just remembered some more of the story- Colin/Conrad musn't fall into a powerful dark kings' hands because he has a brilliant mind

Can you recommend a piece of literature (preferably postmodern//classic) that not only takes place in London, but uses it as a major element of the story?

*For example, Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf and the description of the protagonists wandering through Trafalger square and Hyde park.*
