Okay my friend wants to make a scary book to make up for his lack
in comedy, and I was having thoughts of doing the same. But, I have also been thinking of names, a title, a genre, and how am i going to make thousands of copies. If anyone can answer this question for me i would be most thankful.

It seems to me like the message is that one should live for the better of mankind. However, the story isnt about scrooge learning that he was wrong and relizing that he should help people. Its more about scrooge being scared into changing. I dont know if thats the right message either. Shouldnt the message be about a man who relizes that the suffering he has caused isnt worth the money he has made. And not about man who changes because hes afraid of being bound by the chains of his own sins after he dies. Give me some thoughts.

"Into the room she enters and fills the room with her fragrance and beauty. My heart stops and I pretend with might to not notice her as much as I do. A calmness washes over me and within me as she is so real and I gain now the strength to look into her eyes and realize the luck and grace of God that is with me. She stands at the end of the bed as I give this notice to her vibrance that fills the room, in its white-cottoned aura, with huge gaping eyes that haunt me with the awareness of everything that I am inside, and she smiles in this thought I have as she knows this too. I don't know what to say, so I do not speak, as she begins to talk to me, as the words only move like a lovely fluid of soft passioned voice from her mouth, I now sit up, mesmerized by her lips that only seem to sing now a jumbled far-away song in my head, as I am distracted by the motion of her soft lips now, and want only to kiss them softly and hold her closely, in a union of eyes, up close. Can anyone find personification, a metaphor, a hyperbole, a metonymy, and a synecdoche in The Adventures of Huck Finn?

I know what all of these are, but I'm having trouble finding them in the novel. Thanks!

I'm a long-haul truck driver and constantly on the road. At the moment I am lacking a laptop. I am constantly writing stories and such and was wondering if there was an online site where one could write and keep files there so they could be accessed and added onto at a later date. If anyone knows of a site or two like this, that would be great!

Just in case it censors the title, the name of the book is "Moby D!ck".

I think the title line is fairly stright-forward. I'll be honest, I didn't read the whole book (partly because I procrastinate alot, partly because I genuinely dislike the book), but form what I read it seems to tell alot about the culture of New England and Nantucket, the whaling industry.

In the beginning, when he meets Queequeg, Ishmael talks about how it was common for cannabals, or other people from islands to be casually walking the streets. Assuming these people are black, does this mean that New England has no racial tensions? Slavery was going on in the south around that time (or maybe it had just recently ended...hm...?).

As for the whaling industry, here's the part where my inerest severely waned. I gather that it's not necessarily a happy, fun job, and certianly not easy. The sailors who do it, do it because they love it. I gathered that much, but I can't quite get a grasp on what that says about...

My favourite authors are Ernest Hemingway, Douglas Adams, Margaret Atwood, F Scott Fitzgerald, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Laura Esquivel, Herman Hesse, and Jaqueline Suzanne.

This is a very eclectic mix, but they are my favourites. Any suggestions for a good read?

-- what was the turning point that made the ending inevitable?
