I'm a long-haul truck driver and constantly on the road. At the moment I am lacking a laptop. I am constantly writing stories and such and was wondering if there was an online site where one could write and keep files there so they could be accessed and added onto at a later date. If anyone knows of a site or two like this, that would be great!

I don't know, I'm kind of afraid of putting anything I'm writing online. I think you should save it to a floppy disc & use a separate disc for each storyUse a separate disc for each story. When you get to a PC you can easily access it and no one else can pirate it. When you do get a laptop it will keep all that memory off your hard drive. PS - they are pretty cheap now, start saving up! I hate to think of you stuck in your truck one long night with a great idea! Writing longhand & transcribing later is too time consuming!

There's a site called Our Echo where people post short stories and poems and others add comments.
You can put a story on there, but it offers the option to "Take this post offline." It allows you to add your posts without actually displaying them. It has several purposes:

1. It allows you to edit and proof your work over several days before actually displaying it to the world.
2. It provides some safeguards against the loss of your work by providing an additional place to store your work.

I don't know if this is EXACTLY what you're looking for, but the website http://www.fictionpress.com allows anyone to post original stories, further allowing the public to view them and critique the prose.

If you don't have one completely done, it lets you add chapters as it goes along, but I'm not completely sure if that's what you mean...

I hope this helps at least a little!

You might want to buy a cheap flash drive instead of relying on the internet... I picked mine up for less than $20.

Try http://www.ourecho.com/ for that. You can pretty much do with what you want with your writings at your leisure.

Hope this helps!
