Even when invited to send part of the novel and synopsis, it can be 3 months or more, and then result in a rejection slip. Why not let several be mulling it over at the same time?

I'm a writer looking for a little extra work. I've been surfing, but only seem to find sites that want to charge a fee. I can't justify paying $30 a month to apply for a job that only pays peanuts and w/ no guarantee that I'll get it. I can write editorials, short stories, poetry and the such.

I had this book in the early 1970's but it could have been an older book. It was about children that visited a playground and rode on a horse made of metal I think (could have been wood) and then it disappeared, but a real horse appeared in the field, suggesting that the horse had come to life. It was one of those really simple stories, but so appealing to young children. It was a book short enough to read at bedtimes and would love to find it so I can read it to my daughter. I remember lovely illustrations, but unfortunately not the title or author? Any ideas or suggestions of what the book might be, pls contact. Many thanks.

If you were writing a book to describe your personality or life, what title would you give it? Something that would let the reader know what to expect from the book.

I'm looking for the names of some ancient Celtic cities to use in a novel I am writing. I have found a few, but am hoping to find many more. Also, if there is any other city names that you feel would be fitting for a fantasy novel, please feel free to include them.

Thank you for your input.
