I just started reading books by Nora Roberts. The only ones I've read are Summer Pleasures with second chance and one summer in it and then a book with three of that Calhoun women's stories: C.C., Amanda, and Lilah. I know there are two others-Suzanna and Megan. I was curious, are there any other books with any distant relations of the Calhouns or with them in it or another character from those books or anything? Thank you!

Ever since reading all of Anne Rice Books I am looking for the next best series of books to read. It doesn't have to be about vamps or witches, i want engaging literature that's vivid, descriptive and deep.

"Love Planted a Rose" by Katharine Lee Bates

Love Planted a rose,
And the world turned sweet,
Where the wheatfield blows
Love planted a rose.
Up the mill-wheel's prose
Ran a music beat.
Love planted a rose,
And the world turned sweet.

any ideas?

please forgive the vauge discription but i dont remember many details from when i read it as a very young kid. i know i absolutly loved it though...
it starts with a kid that gets kidnapped in the middle of the night by a giant, or something very large that can fly. the kid is put in a sack so he(?) doesnt know where hes going.
they end up in a cave where the giant drinks a drink called fizzlepop or something with the word fizz in it. it makes the giant fart a lot which makes him blast into the air (?) and he says something along the lines of "at least the bubbles arent going up and coming out the other end."
weird i know, but it was a great fun book that i havent forgotten about since i read it in elementary school. any suggestions or guess would be greatly appreciated!

I work in the childrens/teen section of a bookstore and recently have been getting asked recommendations for books/series for 9-12 year old boys that don't have magic or anything like that in them. I know a few, but most of the books I read and that come in nowadays are more oriented for the fantasy genre. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me?
I know Gary Paulson for outdoors/adventures, Christopher and Gutman for sports. Other than some oddball titles I'm drawing a blank.
Any suggestions could be helpful and even if its not popular right now I can always order it in to recommend it.
Thanks a lot!

I'm writing a story with the main character's name beginning with a b, so she can be nicknamed Bee, like me. Bridget, Brittany, and Bethani are out. I'm Bethani, Bridget is sisterhood of the traveling pants and Brittany...maybe its an option. But I've thought abtou it already.

Sorry for rambling. (=

What kind of fictional/fatansy books would you recommend for a 9th grader that isn't a silly teen book, i.e., The Lovely Bones or Blue Bloods.

I have a dear friend of mine who afores ficion and fantasy books, so I want to buy her a good curl-up-by-the-fire book. I don't know what to get her though. I want to avoid a book with a series because she wants all the books in the series, not one and she has the reading level of about a 10th or 9th grader. Please!
