I am in 9th grade honors english, we have to read The Iliad, it is very challenging. Is there an easier way to read it? Can I get a a spark notes version??

just read it. it gets easier once you get into it and you understand the plot. its not all that bad, actually. i liked both the Iliad and the Odyssey. you should read it. its also by homer.

I would recommend just trying to visualize it as you read it and go from there. I think the notes versions really won't do it justice. I've read the Iliad a couple of times and it really is a fantastic story, you just have to adjust to the way it is worded and so forth. Just keep at it.

it's just like a muscle the more you do it the easier it gets.
for greater understanding,as you go do some research on the various aspect of greek culture of the time.this will allow you to relate to the characters.

Get the audio book, it's easy to listen to and helps you get into the text. After all The Illiad was originally an oral tradition.

I think you had better read the actual thing... but prepare to do a lot of pinching! Don't cheat... you need to build endurance.
