The release date of the final Harry Potter book has not been announced by the publisher, but Rowling is working toward a release in the summer of 2007. A publishing director at Bloomsbury Publishing Plc. said in May 2006 that she hopes the seventh book will be released in 2007, even going so far as to say it was "likely."[2]
Many fans feel or hope that the date of July 7, 2007 (07/07/07) will be the release day of the seventh book, or at least should be. That date falls on a Saturday, the day on which the previous two Harry Potter books have been released. That date also falls in the traditional June-July release window established by all previous Potter books. Also, the fifth Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, is being released on Friday, July 13, 2007, so a book release 6 days prior might help market both simultaneously. However, one possible deterrent to the July 7th release date could be the second anniversary of the London terrorist bombings.[3] In the Potter universe, the number 7 has magical properties

Harry gets older; has something bad happen due to his own curiousity/or his friends; and has to go on some journey to get more powerful/smarter; and triumph over whatever evil force threatens him or his school all the while dealing with some sort of rivalry with some other faction within his school.
basic plot of all harry potter books....

The book isn't even completely written yet, nor does it have a title. So any dates that are given are completely speculative at the moment.

no one entirely knos the anwsers to both questions. the best i can do is off her site:
1)book: late next summer, early winter
2)she hasnt really said anything, but we know that his serch for the horcrux's will be going on, and he'll face voldemort one last ime.

I believe it's July 7th, 2007. How clever is that for the seventh book? I think they might've pushed it back, though. Someone told me that. But I dunno.
