For teenagers who want a bit of light reading Demon in my View and Midnight Predator by Amelia Atwater Rhodes is good. Also, they should try reading Twilight and it's sequel New Moon by Stephenie Meyer, which is really good. The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice are Marvelous, I thought The Vampire Lestat was the best one, though Tale of the Body Thief and Memnoch the Devil weren't so bad either. Hm...Also, I remember enjoying the Christopher Pike series The Last Vampire when I was about 11...

Read Fred Saberhagen's vampire series, the first book is: An Old Friend of the Family and the second is A Matter of Taste. I think he did three more after those two, but you'll have to check. I read them but I am not sure, I think the third book was entitled 'Thorn' but cannot be positive. Really good reads. Enjoy!

The Laurell K. Hamilton series is awesome (at least until the erotica overwhelms the action). Start out with Guilty Pleasures and it is important to read these in sequence. The series title is Anita Blake the Vampire Hunter.

i just got done reading 'the circle trilogy' by nora roberts. (morrigans cross, dance of the gods, and valley of silence)
it is about twin brothers, one is a sorcerer (hoyt), one a vampire (cian), a witch (glenna), a scholar (moira), a shape shifter (larkin), and a demon hunter (blair). they are called upon by a godess (morrigan) to put together an army to fight a war against a vampire queen (lilith), her lover (lora), and all of her 'people'.
i too like books about vampires, and this one held my interest all the way through. its got some romance in it, forwarn.. and right now im about to start reading maggie shaynes prince of twilight, about dracula...or sherrilyn kenyons dark side of the moon, about a shape shifter...
other than that, all the other books ppl posted are great too, anne rice, amelia atwater rhodes... awesome!
