I'm watching a program on tv at the moment where the presenter is following in the footsteps of Hernando Cortez. He keeps reading from a book which seems to be an account of Hernando Cortez's journey, any idea what that book might be?

I am a Christian who also loves a good story. The idea in fiction is to write things that are NOT true to make them SOUND true. How is this a problem with the DaVinci Code?
People need to relax!!

Alright so I want a horror book, something to do with a stalker or anything like that. And over 200 pages, I hate mystery books just so you know. I mean like where theres a detective, don't worry if it's for adult or not- been there, read that.

I think Neville will be the one that kills Voldemort and die by doing it. I think Harry was the red herring all this time.

It's not Nobby Nobbs or any of The Watch.
I could give you a clue but that would be like cutting my own throat, and it ain't Dibbler either.

I read this book some time back and was wondering about few things. Surely this is a work of fiction, but it also claims to depict real life incidences from erswhile Japan. I was thinking as to how many of these practices were really widespread or a lot in this book is plain hype to grab attention and then money from readers.

Also I need a good cook book for a Xmas pressie for my cous who is a single bloke, so a book full of tasty SIMPLE recipes that are easy and cheap to do. Thanks

She has already made a fool of herself when she said that "The Scarlet Letter" is a book about absolutely "nothing!" But it just amazes me how she can just screw around with J.D Salinger's "Nine Stories". In "The Laughing Man", she says that the Chief is homosexual because of quote: "He does not run after his girlfriend." All that I can say is, what the hell? It is obvious that she was pregnant because of all of the symbolism of baby carriages all over the ball park and the fact that she was conversing with two mothers. She also said that one of my favorite stories, "Pretty Mouth and Green My Eyes" is about a paranoid man who was wrong about his wife cheating! If she carefully read the story, she can see that Joannie was in fact, cheating on Arthur with the "grey haired man". She was the woman in the bed with him! Arthur just lied to Lee probably because he works for his firm, and regretted spilling out his beans. Is this why the children of America are failing?

DS just finished Teribithia (hated it most of the way) and wants to read a book about surviving the elements, a novel. Something exciting that also teaches about survival in the forest, snow, heat...whatever. Anyone read any like this?
