I have written a book with well over 400 pages. It's a reference book on African films. It includes the writer, director, cast and a synopsis for each film. It also includes the country of origin and some historical info on each country represented. I'm just wondering how I can go about getting a book like this published fairly quickly. I've been considering self publishing and print-on-demand.

she has been reading harry potter fan fiction for 2 years and i have tried reading the stories and the books and the movies and after so much i have been overloaded. she depicts the movies down to every detail. I have been pateint and now that is all she does is read on the computer. she doesn't do any chores and i am not trying to be controlling but how much of one persons life does this take up. I can lay next to her for 6 or 7 hours and she doesn't even turn to look at me.people also notice this and say that it isn't healthy. My freinds and family ask me why i have put up with it for so long and i try to tell them that it will pass but it has been 2 straight years of nothing but fan fiction. I understrand her getting into the books but these aren't the books some of these stories are regular stories and others are smut. gay smut at that about harry and draco. and most of them are these types of stories. i just can't get into these types of stories.

Some of my favorites are "The Belgariad" by David Eddings; "Eragon", "Eldest" by Paolini. Other authors I like is David B. Coe, Stepen Donaldson. I also recently got it to reading manga. So far I have read Ceres Celestial Legend by Yuu Watase.
Anime movie suggestions also. I have just about all Hayao Miyazaki anime DVD including "Spirited Away".

I think that i shall never see a poem lovely as a tree
a tree who hungry mouth is pressed
against the earths sweet flowing breast
a tree that may in the summer wear
a nest of robins in her hair
poems are made by fools like me but only god can make a tree

I'm looking for a novel that has a similar theme as Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, like predicting the futuristic utopia. I thought about the book 1984 by George Orwell, but it's too long. So any shorter ones?

From the far east, he came
In clothes torn and worn
Hand hurt, back bent and leg lame
No valuables, did he adorn

A thin old man, he was
Hair uncut and beard unshaved
For as many years as he was
No essence of youth, he saved

A familiar face, he possessed
Of virtue, wit and wisdom within
Jeers followed him, then jests
Being mocked, he did not grin

Held his head high, he did
Though men laughed and leered
Any shame he had, he got rid
To where I was, he neared

To each other, we faced
Ruined and wrinkled face of his
Against mine, we embraced
Couldn't as my reflection, he is

it was a few years ago, and the cover was brown with yellow writing, with maybe a lightbulb on it. it was about an old town, not set in current time or world, where kids were assigned jobs, and the main kid got assigned "pipes" and he/she(i can't remember) found a way to escape the town through an underground river, and they had boats and candles(which they didn't know how to use). anyways, it was a really good book and i wonder if there's a sequel.
