Hi. Okay, I have a question about the book. Pretty simple to but I am just dumb so I don't get it. WHO exactly sent out that evil message through the cell phones? I just never figured that out...I read the whole book but I don' t get the logistics of it....thank you!!! Feel free to elaborate on what you think of the book to, let me know what it was all about.

The characters in the book speculate on possible origins of the Pulse signal, but no definitive source is ever located, and everything expressed in the book about it is actually speculation by the characters.

Some people compare this work to The Stand but I found it both less "religious" (not that there’s anything wrong with that) and optimistic. These point aside I really liked the book. It reminded me of some of Stephen’s earlier work. I read it non-stop over a weekend.

I believe the origins of the message was not meant to be known. It was supposed to be left to the discretion of the reader. Perhaps it could've been a 'backdraft', like a fire.
