I wear different clothes, listen to music, read my favorite scenes in a book over 5 million times, and stare at the celing (for if you ever get writers block). I read alot, and write nearly every chance I get. If something doesn't work in a story, Just rewrite it until you are happy with it. Like you, I am also an aspiring author. It's hard, huh?

Practice makes perfect. Depends on what you write. You write to improve your craft. Try your hand at poems, essays, short stories, etc. on a regular basis. Submit the finished copies and soon you will enjoy publication.......

Write more and then re-read what you wrote. Put it away while you write of something else. go back and re-read that which you have put away, and look for ways in which to clarify or direct the prose. Ask people to read your work and ask them only for what's wrong with it. Never accept when they say "Oh this is good..." (unless, of course, they are a publisher...)
