In university or high school writing, a thesis will typically contain multiple paragraphs. So will an essay, although it's possible for an essay to consist of one lengthy paragraph. For example, "In the early 1970s, a rock group named The Ramones captured the fancy of a generation of young people who mimicked the tattered fashion and punk attitude of these genuinely talented musicians, boosting them to fame."

There is also a concluding statement that has to flow with the thesis statement. Do not forget to use your thesis as a supporting sentence in your conclusion.

Well, as you said the theme is the main idea of the story, play, poem, etc. so, you should be careful when you handle it because you'll find always that there are major themes and minor themes. It is very important to show how they connect and relate to each other, and how also the characters represent this theme, sometimes a character represent a certain theme like in Shakespeare Antony and Cleopatra, when the characters of Cleopatra and Caesar represented the theme of the clash between the western culture ad the Egyptian culture.

remember the theme is a message someone says..nott like just one word like theme cant be just love..it has to be like how love conveys emotion or a message about love....sooooo make sure your other paragraph ties into the message and how it portrays taht message..
