I was reading The Canterbury Tales and this was the question asked at the end of the knight's tale part I. One man is in prison but is able to see the girl he loves every day, and the other man is free but can never see her again. Which situation would you rather be in?

"You lovers, here's a question I would offer,
Arcite or Palamon, which had most to suffer?
The one can see his lady day by day,
But he must dwell in prison, locked away.
The other's fee, the world lies all before,
But never shall he see his lady more.
Judge as you please between them, you that can,
For I'll tell on my tale as I began."

I am an American student who has to do a project for World War Two. It's an oral report and my character is suppossed to be British so the class can learn about all different sides of the war. So, what is your opinion on the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Holocaust and the Battle of Britain.

I am doing an anthology and I need to include a short story in my unit of authors from New England. The story can be about anything having to do with freedom, and can be from any time period, point of view, etc. Thank you so much!

Are you thankful each day for what you have? Do you even think about the gifts in your life, how your life might be radically different
and realize ever what you are taking for granted?
I see and hear so many complaining today who have so much yet, are not satisfied ,including healthy bodies. When so many others have so much less .Gratitude and joyfulness I have observed seems more evident in those who often have less though they seldom make demands of anyone.
Thoughtful responses are appreciated.

He is the snotty poetry critic,
Who turns up his nose at my stuff
But I checked out his answers
And read some of his old guff
He has terrible problems that vex
And cause him to sneeze every time he has sex
So when he says nasty things about my prose
I picture him blowing his load through his nose.

*****

Cast no stones at poor, lonely Teedyu
His crime's against nature, not you
His poetry glass beholds half-emptiness
Seamless, endless, ancient and new

"Sing with me....!"

Hail, Hail Teedyu
Einstein asks questions of you
Sail, Sail, Teedyu
Get out your tri-fold and come through
Hold up a Grail to tired old Teedyu
Buy us a round or two
We'll go to jail with retched old Teedyu
Teedyu...old true and blue

what's a really interesting fantasy book that has a good story, not huge, but the main characters don't do magic? I am looking for a fantasy book that doesn't revolve around weird wolrds and too much magic. Just something like Hobbit or Narnia. I just like stories that are closer to our world, not too unrealistic. Thanks! =)

I know that not everyone reads but i think its just because they dont realize there are books based on their interests. Everytime i have to buy someone a gift i always want to get them a book because there is a book out there for everyone. But i resist the urge, because i dont want them to open and be like, "Oh, wow. a book, great."

I'm looking for a good program to download to edit photos. Not only to crop or resize but also to add designs and art. I would also like to make my photos in black/white. I have Windows XP. I'm only going to download a trail version first to see how it works so if you know the site where i can get it from, that would be helpful.

Oh! and one more thing, I tried Adobe Photoshop from Download.com and I logged into the Adobe to finish the rest of the download but the site wasnt' working.

thanks =]
