I'm a freethinking futurist and I believe that it is inevitable that one day there will be no countries. As the world becomes smaller due to greater cooperation between nations, faster travel (we will be able to go anywhere we want in less than an hour in a couple of decades), and more intermingling between humans we will eventually become like a one wold culture...the culmination of a mixture of all the cultures. Sooner or later people will realize that nationalism will be counterproductive to the survival of our species and planet. Before you call me a delusional tree hugger think about it...it may take 200 years or more but it's gonna happen eventually.

Can anyone tell me what this style of drawing is called? I have seen it before, but I can't find it when I look for it. From what I understand this style was used mostly as a tool for medieval propaganda. Heres a link to an example:

I bought my son Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy for his birthday. It had great reviews and was highly recommended for a 6th grade reading level by the Yahoo Answers community. Now I'm kind of second guessing my decision because of a review I read. It said that the books follow an Anti-Christian theme that concludes with the children killing God. I already asked this question but it didn't give me the answers I wanted. I would like the play's name, the # of act and what scene it is. Thank you. I have to teach this class tomorrow. I've decided I might want to do a "would you rather" type of game with my class in order to teach them scary Shakespeare moments in his plays. Scenes like the skull and Hamlet, witches from M play. 1) I'm trying to remember the name of a book I read in 7th grade. It was about a girl who goes into a cellar, and when she comes out she is in the past, during some war. All I can really remember about it is that she meets a girl and they exchange items so that time doesn't speed up between visits, or something like that.

2) the second book is about a man who is hired by a kingdom to steal a stone. He travels with two men, I think. He steals the stone, but pretends to lose it so he can give it to his queen. Everyone thinks his mom was a queen of theives but it turns out that his mom is the queens theif, or something. I really can't remember much. Any help would be greatful
