I think the debate still wages about whether or not there is one.
One might argue that logic is the basis for knowledge... but I have posed arguments debunking the use of deductive reasoning in certain, if not many, arguments.
From an existential perspective, can anyone truly know anything? We dont even know for certain how real we are... existence is perceived in the mind.

the universal intellectual base is the human effort to understand this world without refering to spiritual entities.
every science and philosophy started trying to go beyond religion, cause it wasn´t enough for human rationality.
