Ok, I am 56 and love the movie Dead Poets society, I am reading about the author Herrick on wikipedia and it says it is from: the carpe diem genre. What does this encompass ? I am very literal, not one ounce poet, but I feel the poem/sonnet ? : "The Virgins to make more of time" gives huge huge wisdom to young people if they will listen. I really just want to understand what they mean when they say :
the carpe diem genre, I know all about Carpe Diem from when the movie was released, but in historical perspective of writing, which I know very little about, what does this particular genre mean here ?
Please,no smart alec responses just becuase the word virgin is here, i am NOT looking at it from this point of view, but Robin also says "most men lead quiet lives of desperation" in the movie and I'd hate to see most young people do this.

On the McDonlalds food bags there are featured people who are, according to McDonlads', "Global Casting Stars".
Is this a real cinematic position? Like Co-Star or Supporting Actor or is it just made up?

I wrote this upon the death of my daughter in a hiking accident which occurred one week after her 21st birthday:

Teddy bears and bunnies
Covering the bed
Dollies carried carefully,
All washed and wrapped and fed.
Pony tails that never stayed
Within the rubber band
Burnt toast served lovingly
She made with her own hand
Roller skating backwards
And in circles on the walk
Bicycling to Jennifer's
Way down around the block
Mixing cookies by herself
And eating half the dough
That's Kristina Lemondrop
Whose mommy loved her so.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Churchill had intellegence that the Japanese during world war 2 were going to attack Pearl Harbour but kept the knowledge top secret from the Americans in order for the Americans to enter into the war with Germany. Is this true or is it speculation based on conspiracy.

SMALL TALK

I talk.
You talk.
We talk.
We're pleased.

He talks.
She talks.
They talk.
They're pleased.

Do you ever get the feeling
that not enough people listen?

(Yes, I wrote this stupid thing.)
