I understand America had a meagre standing army during the initial stage of World War 2.

How did it manage to train so many divisions of soldiers in relatively short period of time and make them operational?

How did it manage to come up with modern artillery and howitzers, tanks and planes etc and fighting doctrine too?

We are traveling to NYC and want purchase 7 tickets(9-21-07) to Curtains at the Hirschfeld Theatre, New York NY. I've never been to the theatre. I feel more comfortable talking to someone on the phone who can tell me the exact seats I would be getting. I want to pay somewhere close to face value. Some brokers seem to be 3-4xs that price.

I'm just looking for ideas of books to read and I'm curious about other people's must reads, whether it's considered classical literature or modern fiction.

I've been given the chance to be signed up by a really good modelling company for women with curves. What they've asked me to do is to submit a final "full length photo of you smiling". I need to do this in the next couple of days. I feel really nervous as I'm so close to being signed by them I don't want to mess things up now. It is in the UK.

This is something I'd love to do but does anyone have any tips of how a photograph will come off best? Particular colours or looks.

Much appreciated
