Both, you have to be needed by someone else you have no purpose, you become useless.

Life is for living, but unfortunately, if you are living it only for your own benefit, you are probably a very lonely person.
Life is really about, interacting, with family and friends and helping to make life interesting and pleasurable, for as many people as possible.

The wording of the question itself presupposes its answer. You say: "For whom are YOU living YOUR life; yourself, or another?" In such wording, we find that you ontologically construct "a life" as being owned by a singular individual (i.e., YOU or YOUR). If a life was lived for another, would it still be called "your" life?

I used to live mostly for others. Then I grew up and realized that you must take care of and care for yourself to be any good to others. Now I live for myself and for others. A good balance is what we need to work for....

For God.
When I accept that it is he I am living for, my priorities all fall into place easily.
It takes out the complications of "Why am I here".
I know why because I was giving a life to honor that of whom made me.
And that by living my life to honor him in turn honor my children, my parents, my husband and myself.

Well, I am unmarried single woman so I reckon I'm living for myself. Although.... I kind of live for the family I grew up in also.
And... I reckon, God. I live for Him in the way that I seek His will and don't want to dissapoint Him through my day to day thoughts and actions.

Everyone lives the world for themselves. It is their choice whether or not others are more important.
