Agnostic: Someone who considers that there is no evidence for the existence of God, but also no evidence for its non existence. This is a neutral position.
Atheist: Someone who is in denial of the existence of God. This is not a neutral position.

This is the same question as in http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070618153556AA9ianm
but better formulated, I hope.

It is my personal experience that many people claim to follow the valid principle behind agnosticism, which is that we should only believe what is supported by evidence, but in fact have the atheistic position, which is not supported by evidence and is actually a belief system..

It is as if there is a war with those who says God exists on one side and those who say He does not exist on the other side. Very few remain neutral.. Those who have not experienced or comprehended evidences of God, tend to move on the denial side instead of just remaining neutral. Why is it so hard to remain neutral?

What, specifically, is the Farthes south the picts made it into Britain? Anyone know? I know that they INVADED, I know that the Saxons who arrived in the South East Fought battles with the picts at least twice before turning on their British Employers which would IMPLY that the battles could not have been too far north. AND I know that the picts "joined forces" with the saxons when the saxons finally turned hostile to the romano-brits. This is all the Info I can find in my copies of Bede and the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. Its not very definitive and every map I've ever seen shows the picts isolated WAY up north. Does anyone know of any specific references to places in the central or southern part of the Island they may have fought, or any names of kingdoms or rulers they battles with as opposed to Bede's and Gildas' uselessly simplified "the picts attacked BRITAIN from the north"?

I figure since the Religion and Spirituality section are strictly based on pure evidence that maybe some here would base their reasoning on God's existence to a more logical level.

There are alot of arguments that support God's existence but no real proof... so i just wanna get some insight to what you may think?

I think in words so when I was an infant without words and a vocabulary what were the tools I used to communicate what I was feeling? How did I correlate time and deduce things around me? How did I approve and dissaprove of my environment?

I looked on Wikipedia, and it said Prussian armies had showers installed in their barracks in 1879. However, I couldn't find any information on the installation of showers in London. When did England start using showers instead of baths?

I am giving a talk on computer network security and am looking for applicable quotes. I would like a historical perspective on this particular quote, if only to verify that General Macarthur really did say this. I know who he was, and I know when he lived, but that seems to be all that the popular quote searches can give me.

Well, I am not able to attach the photo, but the picture is of a little african american girl with an afro, wearing a blue dress, holding a yellow sunflower(?) up to her nose. the girl dominates the picture but vaguely in the background there are partial silhouettes of a couple of sky scapers on either side of her. VERY cute picture. Needless to say (probably), it was probably painted by an African American artist. I hate I can not attach the picture, but I "hope" the description helps...Thanks in advance.

I know, reading isnt fun to many of you, but a lot of times i get into a book, and really enjoy it. I do have summer reading for my school, but i want to know a good book to read for "fun" that is going to be entertainning.
These are some books i really enjoyed, maybe it would help...
All the Harry Potters
Eragon/Eldest
The Sea of Trolls-BY Nancy Farmer
Pendragon (series)
Charlie Bone ( i think thats what its called)
Emperor: The Gates of Rome

And different books like that.
Action,Fantasy, i enjoy books with Magic (like harry potter type magic)
and books that took place when there were kings and knights, and fights with swords and mystical creatures.

So if you have any good book suggestions based off the above info or that you enjoyed that i might like, i would appreciate it.

*I am a fast and excellent reader, the longest book on that list took my 9 days, and that was The Sea of Trolls, so i can handle big books =)*
thanks

Oh you people look at me
Buzzed buzzed buzzed
On some brown LSD

That's no bus that's a f'ing tree
Through the pink haze
Headed straight for thee

ground is leaving
all aboard
my your mind is a hevy load

Ding ding ding and a putt putt putt
put away the bong
better move your butt

Penfold's coming and he's slick
Gonna ruin your little trip
Gonna steal your poems (sh*t!)
