I looked on Wikipedia, and it said Prussian armies had showers installed in their barracks in 1879. However, I couldn't find any information on the installation of showers in London. When did England start using showers instead of baths?

I wouldn't take this answer to the bank, but everything I found on line suggested there were no showers in common use in England until the 20th century. Public baths were commonly used.

I have the impression that the only people installing showers in the UK in the 1800s were some "excentric" lords with a thing for health and hygiene. Most people at that time seem to think that bathing "too much" was unhealthy, and should only be done at a Spa.
